Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members, and the brand across our store environment. The role emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and immediate incident response, with training provided to build confidence in crisis situations.

The position requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests at 10ft and 4ft zones.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote physical security culture and maintain safe standards storewide.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and assist with apprehensions per AP policy.
• Use Target's video surveillance system effectively.
• Submit documentation for all incidents in the case management system.
• Remain mobile and capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.
