Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members, and the brand. You will act with discretion, perform loss-prevention duties, and support safety initiatives across the store.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills to operate security systems and assist guests in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create a easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and thanking them at checkout.
• Promote a physical security culture by maintaining safe standards throughout the store and exterior property.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner using case management systems.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when addressing security incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed while adhering to AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortages by performing merchandise receipt checks and communicating trends to improve loss prevention.
