Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and assets within our stores. You will engage with guests, respond to incidents, and maintain safe store operations using video surveillance and case-management documentation.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma, and can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, including nights and weekends. Training is provided to build skills in crisis response and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or legal requirements.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other tech.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring guest experience by greeting guests and assisting with needs.
• Assist guests in locating products and resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End each guest interaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and help peers while staying positive and respectful.
• Promote a safe security culture and maintain standards store-wide.
• Respond to incidents and document them accurately in case management systems.
• Use video surveillance and other tools per AP policy.
• Perform theft recoveries and communicate trends to protect assets.
• Operate in varying temperatures and conditions; work shifts including nights/weekends.
