Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist in New Jersey to protect guests, team members and the brand. You will use intelligence-led tactics, respond to crises, document cases, and support theft prevention while delivering a safe, friendly shopping experience.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible availability (nights/weekends/holidays) and comfort with handheld scanners and video surveillance. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate scanners and other technology.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly guest experience and greet guests and team members.
• Assist guests in finding items and resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• Document security incidents accurately in the case management system.
• Respond to incidents with de-escalation and proper procedures.
• Maintain store safety and secure exterior areas, following AP policies.
• Support merchandise loss prevention and theft recovery as needed.
• Operate Target's video surveillance system and security equipment.
