Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and brand assets in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet customers, deter theft, operate video surveillance, and document incidents using our case management system.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a HS diploma, strong communication skills, and can work independently or with a team in variable shifts, including nights and weekends. Training is provided, and safety is a core value.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests and assisting them.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide.
• Respond to security incidents and document them accurately in the case management system.
• Conduct merchandise receipt checks and prevent theft/shortage at the front of store.
• Leverage surveillance systems and de-escalation tactics when needed.
• Collaborate with team members to support store operations and safety.
