Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and assets while delivering an engaging shopping experience. You will greet customers, resolve issues, and support store safety with de-escalation techniques and surveillance tools.

The role requires flexibility for nights and weekends, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to incidents.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
