Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests and assets in a fast-paced store environment. You will contribute to a friendly guest experience while adhering to safety and security protocols, including monitoring with CCTV, documenting incidents, and supporting store teams.

The role requires 18+, a high school diploma, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or with a team, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Greet guests and assist with finding items or resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly in the case management system.
• Use Target's video surveillance system to monitor activities.
• Handle theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support per AP policies.
