Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, start up, certify, and train customers on security and life-safety systems across diverse projects. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, integrity, and growth within a collaborative culture.

The position requires strong technical skills, wiring and blueprint interpretation, and the ability to travel locally. A valid driver’s license and 3-5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills with experience in fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings; comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel locally to jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine systems and equipment including security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams to determine installation procedures.
• Commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
• Provide customer training and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Operations Manager to optimize project delivery and quality.
