Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Project Technician to install, program, start up, certify and train on security projects of varying complexity. You will work with a collaborative team and contribute to delivering world-class service.

The role requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior staff, with travel to local sites. A high school diploma and 3–5 years of experience are preferred. Convergint offers a supportive culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills in fire alarm and electronic security systems.
• Strong programming and troubleshooting abilities.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient in MS Office and related apps.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services security systems and related equipment.
• Reads blueprints and manuals to determine installation procedures.
• Operates systems to demonstrate, start-up, and certify new installations.
• Mentor junior staff and assist in project coordination.
• Collaborates with Project Manager to manage budgets and timelines.
• Provides training and customer support on completed projects.
