Allied Universal in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed to safeguard facilities at a chemical/petrochemical location. The role focuses on access control, credentials verification, patrols, and customer service.

The position is full-time with a daytime/night schedule, paying $15.50 per hour. Candidates need 1+ year law enforcement or 2+ years security supervisory experience or 3+ years security experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of law enforcement experience, OR 2+ years security supervisor/manager experience, OR 3+ years security experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers while following site-specific procedures and emergency response actions.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials and processing visitors/contractors.
• Operate access-control systems, cameras, and visitor-management tools according to procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and access concerns and document observations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

As a Security Officer Unarmed in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control professional at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining entry records, and communicating access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Operate access-control systems, cameras, communication equipment, and visitor-management tools in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
