Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time Unarmed) in Sulphur, LA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and perform routine patrols to deter incidents at a chemical/petrochemical location. Driving is required and a valid license is mandatory.

Schedule includes Day shifts with rotating days; pay rate is $15.50 per hour. Prior law enforcement or security supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a valid driver’s license and readiness to work at a chemical/petrochemical site.
• At least 1 year in law enforcement or 2+ years in security supervision or 3+ years in security experience.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Security Professional at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols to help deter incidents. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver’s license. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting a collaborative team that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven values.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Verify visitor, contractor, and employee access credentials; issue and collect badges or passes; and maintain accurate access-control records.
• Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle access, and restricted areas at a chemical and petrochemical location, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, surrounding business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
