Allied Universal in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Security Officer – Controlled Access Driver to safeguard facilities and manage site entry. You will verify credentials, monitor access points, drive between posts, and deliver exceptional customer service while upholding safety protocols.

This is a full-time role with a starting pay of $15.50 per hour. Minimum requirements include a valid driver’s license and 1–3 years of related security or law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access control policies.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Screen personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and contractor equipment; report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies following escalation and response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Controlled Access Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site requirements.
• Screen personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and contractor equipment as required, reporting unauthorized access attempts, prohibited items, and unusual activity to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
