Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time) in Lexington, KY, to protect clients across industries such as Education. You will screen visitors, monitor access points, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and guests, while supporting a welcoming campus environment.

Daily shifts include daytime and evening blocks. Prior security or customer service experience is preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Able to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals entering the location in accordance with established access-control procedures, verifying credentials and directing visitors as appropriate.
• Operate screening equipment and inspect permitted items in accordance with posted policies and applicable procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Be able to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
