Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, VA. You will patrol, deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to employees and visitors at a technology/media location.

You will monitor access points, respond to incidents, and report observations using company procedures. Prior security and CPR/First Aid are preferred; must meet licensure and background requirements.

Qualifications

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $23.18 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility interior, exterior, perimeter, parking areas, access points, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and assigned systems; verify credentials and direct individuals in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
