Allied Universal in Sterling, VA seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to monitor and safeguard a technology and media location. You will provide customer service, deter incidents, and document security activity using our tools.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• A guard card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screening may be required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report access-control concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain awareness of site activity, report hazards or unusual conditions, and support a professional, welcoming environment for all occupants and guests.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
