Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Sterling, VA. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and report security concerns at a technology, media, and telecom site.

You will deliver professional customer service and support a welcoming environment while following site policies and emergency procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and producing daily activity reports.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; manage visitor registration and escort requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations for site contacts or emergency services.
• Prepare accurate daily activity and incident reports in line with Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials and follow site procedures for visitor registration, escort requirements, and restricted‑area access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
