Job summary

Allied Universal in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to provide on-site protection and customer service at a technology manufacturing location.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and maintain clear logs while delivering a courteous, professional presence. Prior security experience and a valid license are preferred; training and shift flexibility are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to use computer or tablet is favored.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following site procedures and assisting in emergency responses.
• Respond to incidents and access concerns in a calm, professional manner with proper reporting.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter incidents and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization; maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate hazards and security issues to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 01:00 PM - 09:30 PM
• Tue: 01:00 PM - 09:30 PM
• Sat: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology manufacturing location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.
• Communicate observed hazards, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
