Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard (Unarmed Patrol Engagement) in Milpitas, CA. You will protect clients across tech, media, and telecom environments, perform routine patrols, monitor access, and deliver excellent customer service while documenting activities with our technology platforms.

Position offers flexible scheduling with shifts listed; minimum 1 year security experience preferred, CPR and guard card/license beneficial, and compliance with background checks and drug

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by employment.
• Licensing requirements vary by state and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, offices, common areas, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or access concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and authorization as required, and report access-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed by site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately in required reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
