Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Ambassador in San Jose, CA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, uphold access control, and deliver excellent customer service while representing Allied Universal’s culture of integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, visitor entry, and credential requirements in accordance with site procedures and document observations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner following post orders and protocols.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff documentation with professional communication.

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a dynamic technology location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will support access control, report observations, and assist visitors and employees while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, visitor entry, and credential requirements in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and escalating concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and communication protocols.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff documentation while maintaining professional communication with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
