Allied Universal in CHICAGO, IL is seeking an Armed Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol to safeguard clients across campus locations. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents while delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

A valid Armed Guard Card or License and at least 1 year of security experience are required, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Armed Guard Card or License required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Industry-specific security training participation.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures and access-control practices.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate contacts or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor entrances and exits; verify authorized access according to site procedures; assist with visitor direction and campus information.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and communicate observations to supervision and site representatives.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon – 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Tue – 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri – 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat – 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun – 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and assigned areas; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and assist with visitor direction and campus information.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal supervision and designated site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
