Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL. You will conduct armed patrols, respond to incidents, and ensure safety while delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license; the schedule includes evenings and weekends. Allied Universal values caring, integrity, innovation, and teamwork in every interaction.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other events calmly and contact emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry into restricted areas per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations to supervisors and relevant personnel.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate campus resources and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry into restricted areas in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to supervisors and appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
