Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced in Chicago, IL. This role offers flexible, dependable shifts with anchor site commitment for six months and opportunities to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service, conduct armed patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and document activities, with a pay rate of $19.75 per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following campus protocols and notifying leadership.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas per site requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities and communicate information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in CHICAGO, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Thur: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
