Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago, IL is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Emergency Readiness to protect clients across campus environments, including education sites. You will conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

A valid driver’s license is required. You will respond to incidents calmly, report findings clearly, and follow established campus procedures to keep people safe and secure.

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading educational location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

• Mon: 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Tue: 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Fri: 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Sat: 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Sun: 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain communication with Allied Universal supervisors and campus representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
