Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Awareness in Chicago, IL. You will monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service to clients across various industries.

In this role, you will perform unarmed patrols, respond to incidents, and support access control while upholding a culture of integrity, teamwork, and reliability. Day/evening shifts available.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• 18+ years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background check in accordance with laws.
• Background histories considered per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following site-specific policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols throughout the property, including business areas, common areas, parking locations, and the perimeter.
• Monitor for unusual activity, potential hazards, and access concerns, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and incident reporting while maintaining a professional presence.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the property, including business areas, common areas, parking locations, and the perimeter.
• Monitor for unusual activity, potential hazards, and access concerns, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and incident reporting while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
