Job summary

Allied Universal, Chicago, IL, seeks a Security Officer Full Time Driver Checkpoints to monitor campuses, deter incidents, and provide excellent service to students, staff, and visitors. The role requires a valid driver’s license and night-shift hours in a dynamic educational setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings, galleries, studios, and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report maintenance concerns or policy violations to site staff.
• Document incidents and patrol activity and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, galleries, studios, common areas, and exterior perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
