Job summary

Ascension St. John Jane Phillips in Bartlesville, OK, is seeking an Armed Security professional for nights (9:45pm–6:15am, Friday to Tuesday) to protect the healing environment and support patient care.

The role emphasizes incident response, emergency drills, visitor guidance, and safe vehicle operations. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license and appropriate security credentials are required within four months of hire, with healthcare security credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license issued by the Oklahoma DMV prior to hire date.
• One or more of the following credentials within 4 months of hire: Certified Law Enforcement, IAHSS Healthcare Security Certification, or Security Guard.

Responsibilities

• Protect the healing environment by monitoring facilities and identifying potential threats before they impact staff or patient care.
• Resolve security incidents through thorough investigation and documentation, ensuring a safe, transparent record of site hazards.
• Lead emergency preparedness efforts by mastering disaster protocols and facilitating drills with the clinical team.
• Guide visitors and staff with clear information and a supportive presence as the primary safety resource within the facility.
• Maintain mobile safety standards by operating security vehicles and ensuring rapid, safe responses.

• Maintain mobile safety standards by operating security vehicles responsibly, ensuring rapid response times while upholding the highest levels of traffic safety.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Oklahoma Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Certified Law Enforcement obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Professional specializing in Healthcare credentialed from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Guard obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):
• BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
