Job summary

BayCare Health System in Wesley Chapel is seeking a Security Officer to perform general safety and security duties across the hospital campus, including patrols, responding to incidents, assisting patients and visitors, and maintaining documentation.

The role requires life safety and weapons screening knowledge, a Florida driver’s license, and relevant security certifications, with shifts including nights Sunday-Thursday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, and full-time employment with BayCare's total rewards.

Position: Security Officer

Facility: Wesley Chapel Hospital

The Security Officer performs general safety & security duties including:

• Patrol and detection services
• Assisting customers
• Response and intervention responsibilities
• Provide monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety
• Completes communication and documentation tools
• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner
• Completes other duties as assigned
• Required specific skills also includes life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certifications and Licensures

• Driver's License (State of Florida)
• IAHSS (Security) - Within 1 year
• Security D - Within 90 days
• FDLE (Law Enforcement)

Education

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's in Related Field

Experience

• 1 year Customer Service
• 2 years Security
