Job summary

BayCare Health System in New Port Richey, FL, is seeking a full-time security professional for the Behavioral Health Mandala Building. You will perform safety and security duties, patrol and respond to incidents, monitor safety of patients and staff, and conduct weapons screening as required.

Qualified candidates have a GED/HS diploma, Florida driver’s license, and certifications (IAHSS within 1 year; Security D within 90 days). Experience in customer service or healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent GED.
• Driver's License - State of Florida (upon hire).
• IAHSS Certification within 1 year; 5-year renewal is NOT required.
• Security D License within 90 days.
• 1 year Customer Service; OR 1 year Healthcare in related field; OR 1 year Hospital in related field.
• Life Safety and Weapons Screening techniques.
• De-Escalation training within 2 months of hire or transfer into job, with Annual recertification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general safety and security duties including patrol and detection services, assisting customers, response and intervention responsibilities.
• Provides monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety.
• Completes communication and documentation tools.
• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
