Job summary

BayCare Health System in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Security Officer for the St. Anthony's Hospital campus. The role includes patrols, assists customers, responds to incidents, and conducts weapons screening, with a focus on life safety and safety protocols.

Minimum qualifications include Florida driver’s license, security certifications, and high school diploma. This is a part-time shift with nights and weekend work; prior healthcare security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience.
• 2 years security experience preferred.
• 1 year healthcare in related field preferred.
• 1 year in hospital-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and prevention of safety incidents as assigned.
• Assist customers, patients, and visitors with requests.
• Respond to security incidents and intervene as needed.
• Provide monitoring services to ensure safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
• Complete communications and documentation tools.
• Conduct weapons screening in accordance with policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Security Officer

Facility: St. Anthony's Hospital

The Security Officer performs general safety & security duties including:

• Patrol and detection services
• Assisting customers
• Response and intervention responsibilities
• Provide monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety
• Completes communication & documentation tools
• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner
• Completes other duties as assigned
• Required specific skills also includes life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certifications and Licensures

• Driver's License (State of Florida)
• IAHSS (Security) - Within 1 year
• Security D - Within 90 days
• Preferred: FDLE (Law Enforcement)

Education

• High School or Equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's in Related Field

Experience

• 1 year Customer Service
• Preferred: 2 years Security
• Preferred: 1 year Healthcare in related field
• Preferred: 1 year in Hospital related field
