Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Security Officer for the North Bay Recovery Center in Lutz, FL. The role provides general safety and security support, patrols, and incident response to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include weapons screening, assisting customers, and documenting events. This PRN (as needed) position offers a pathway to growth and a strong total rewards package with benefits and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in security or hospital setting preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain relevant security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and detection services to ensure safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
• Assist customers and respond to incidents with appropriate intervention.
• Conduct weapons screening in accordance with policy.
• Complete documentation and communication tools to log events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position: Security Officer

Facility: North Bay Recovery Center

The Security Officer performs general safety & security duties including:

• Patrol and detection services
• Assisting customers
• Response and intervention responsibilities
• Provide monitoring services to assure team member, patient and visitor safety
• Completes communication and documentation tools
• Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner
• Completes other duties as assigned
• Required specific skills also includes life safety and weapons screening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

Certifications and Licensures

• Driver's License (State of Florida)
• IAHSS (Security) - Within 1 year
• Security D - Within 90 days
• Preferred: FDLE (Law Enforcement)

Education

• High School or Equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's in Related Field

Experience

• 1 year Customer Service
• Preferred: 2 years Security
• Preferred: 1 year Healthcare in related field
• Preferred: 1 year in Hospital related field

Location: Lutz, FL

Status: PRN (AS NEEDED)

Shift Hours: Varies

Weekend Work: Occasional
