Job summary

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel in Florida is seeking a seasoned Security Training Specialist to design and deliver security awareness and de-escalation training for staff and security personnel.

You will update schedules, coordinate sessions, ensure compliance with policies and licensing, and develop CBT modules. A strong background in HICS/ICS-300, CPR, and security operations is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred in security, law enforcement, or related field.
  • 5+ years in security, training or education with heavy customer contact (required).
  • 2+ years of relevant training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops comprehensive lesson plans for security-related and de-escalation training programs.
  • Maintains and updates training schedules to ensure timely delivery of programs.
  • Coordinates and facilitates training sessions for staff and security personnel.
  • Monitors compliance with department policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
  • Assesses training needs and designs programs to address specific job competencies.
  • Implements and evaluates developmental programs for all levels of officers and leadership.
  • Develops Computer Based Learning (CBL) modules for training purposes.
  • Serves as the primary instructor or arranges for subject matter experts to present training classes.
  • Evaluates and revises training materials to adapt to changes and ensure effectiveness.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation and structured feedback for education programs.
  • Benchmarks against successful programs and integrates industry best practices into the curriculum.
  • Coordinates the Field Training Program and ensures proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

  • Knowledge of Access Control and CCTV systems [Required]

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to speak and present in front of groups, with heavy emphasis on Customer Service [Preferred]

  • Strong organization, ability to learn quickly and utilize analytical skills and problem-solving skills necessary to develop curriculum with pre-and post-testing materials [Preferred]

  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to operate security and parking management software, and physical security systems (including, but not limited to CCTV, access control, license plate recognition, duress alarms, etc.) [Preferred]

  • First Responder Training [Required]

  • Hazmat Training [Required]

Education
  • Associate [Preferred]

Field of Study
  • in security, law enforcement, or an equivalent program

Work Experience
