Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Security Officer to perform general patrols, screen for safety, assist staff, and respond to incidents at designated facilities. The role requires vigilance in protecting patients, visitors, and team members across shifts.

Responsibilities include monitoring, documentation, and conducting weapons screening as needed, with opportunities to participate in ongoing de-escalation training and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License – State of Florida (upon hire).
• IAHSS Certification within 1 year; 5-year renewal not required.
• Security D License within 90 days.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education

HS Graduate or Equivalent GED

Required Credentials

Driver's License - State of Florida (upon hire); International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification is needed within 1 year, 5-year renewal is NOT required; Security D License within 90 days.

Required Experience

1 year Customer Service; OR 1 year Healthcare in related field; OR 1 year Hospital in related field.

• Team members must complete De-Escalation training within 2 months of hire or transfer into job, with Annual recertification is required.
