Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Functional Lead for the Safe & Secure team at our HQ to supervise frontline associates, develop safety policies, and drive incident management across facilities. You’ll coach staff, enforce security protocols, and collaborate with internal partners to balance urgency with quality.

The role requires 3+ years in security operations and 1+ year in supervision, plus strong communication and crisis leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in physical security operations or loss prevention.
• 1+ year of direct team supervision experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to lead incident management and develop safety policies.
• Able to work at Carvana HQ and adapt in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of assigned team and improve performance.
• Identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and plan team objectives.
• Coach, develop, and manage performance; provide feedback.
• Foster positive communication, cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Communicate expectations and goals clearly to team members.
• Prevent and resolve conflicts among team members.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Recruit, orient, and train staff; monitor staffing levels.
• Support leadership in implementing initiatives and strategies.
• Escalate high-risk issues and propose improvements.
• Ensure safety by complying with local, state, and federal rules.
• Lead Incident Management program at HQ locations.
• Plan and lead site incident management for awareness and preparedness.
• Direct Safe & Secure tech processes for HQ facilities.
• Record incidents accurately and perform after-action reviews.
• Manage visitor and vendor check-ins and training.
• Conduct risk assessments of HQ facilities.
• Collaborate with operations center leadership as needed.
• Assign work and ensure KPI-driven staffing.
• Be onsite during standard or extended hours when needed.
