Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, OH is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a secure environment for guests, staff and stakeholders. The role emphasizes rapid response to incidents and proactive inspections of the facility.

The position is full-time, 2nd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 3:00pm–11:30pm), with benefits including medical, dental, vision, Life/AD&D/Disability coverage and retirement options. Prior security or customer service experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide communications, response and assistance during emergencies and routine operations.
• Conduct automated surveillance, patrols and inspections to ensure safety.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with policies.
• Maintain certifications for emergency response teams (First Aid, CPR, AED, De-escalation).
• Answer phones promptly and professionally.
• Operate safety vehicles as needed and manage entrance flow for visitors.
