Job summary

The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, OH is seeking a part-time Security Specialist to help maintain a safe environment for guests, staff and grounds. The position runs late afternoons through weekend evenings August through December, with a schedule Wednesday through Sunday, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Responsibilities include monitoring surveillance, responding to emergencies, directing visitors, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

Age 21+.
High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
Must have a driver\'s license and meet insurance guidelines for driving vehicles.
Two or fewer points on the BMV record.
Must obtain Ohio driver\'s license within 1–3 years of hiring.
Customer service experience and first aid/CPR/AED certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide communications, response and assistance for guests and staff during operations and emergencies.
Conduct surveillance, reach inspections to ensure safety and security of the facility.
Coordinate with contractors and outside partners to ensure policy adherence.
Maintain certifications to serve on emergency response teams (First Aid, CPR, AED, De-escalation).
Answer emergency and safety service office phones promptly and professionally.
Operate safety vehicles as needed and manage crowds entering secure areas.
Demonstrate the Conservatory\'s mission and vision to engage diverse audiences.
