Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Illinois. This role offers flexible shifts, a base pay rate of $21.50 per hour, and potential for scale-up through the scheduling platform.

You will be assigned a fixed site with anchor shifts and may pick up additional shifts to increase earnings. Responsibilities include customer service, access control, incident response, and routine patrols.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• This position is primarily a driving post.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A background check will be conducted as required by law.
• A drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for employees, visitors, contractors and deliveries.
• Maintain visitor, contractor and access-control records; report irregularities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and effectively.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; conditions vary by site.

Job Schedule:

• Mon 05:00 PM - 03:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for employees, visitors, contractors and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor and access-control records; communicate access concerns or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• This position is primarily a driving post.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
