Job summary

RTX seeks a skilled Parts/Obsolescence Engineer for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will support programs through obsolescence management, lifetime buys, supplier negotiations, and SOW development while coordinating with design, contracts, estimating, and supply chain teams.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience and can analyze component obsolescence impacts, manage projects, and navigate complex processes. US security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5+ years of relevant experience in obsolescence management, planning and execution
• Experience with data collection, analysis and presenting system impact of obsolescence issues
• Project management experience including schedules, costs, and stakeholder needs
• Financial and contract management experience with proposals, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs

Responsibilities

• Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and other defined customer component requirements.
• Develop and/or sustain an obsolescence management process to deliver cost-saving mitigation strategies.
• Drive resolution through lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and support contract negotiations for proposals.
• Interface with Program and customer leadership to communicate status of mitigation strategies.
• Conduct trade studies to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven points for redesigns.
