Job summary

RTX is seeking a skilled Parts/Components Engineer for the US-based Tucson program. The role focuses on obsolescence management across proposal, design, production, and support phases, coordinating with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, and Supply Chain in an onsite setting.

The candidate will lead obsolescence mitigation efforts, perform analyses, and engage with leadership to drive risk-based decisions. A STEM degree and 5+ years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management.
• Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation of system impact of obsolescence issues.
• Experience with project management, schedules, costs, and stakeholder needs integration.
• Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and other customer component requirements.
• Develop and sustain an Obsolescence Management process to deliver cost-saving mitigation strategies.
• Drive resolution through lifetime buys, alternate parts selections, redesigns, and other mitigation strategies; support contract negotiations and supplier statements of work for proposals.
• Interact with program and customer leadership to communicate mitigation status.
• Conduct trade study analysis to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-in points for redesigns.
