Job summary

RTX is seeking a qualified engineer for a program direct-support role in Tucson, AZ, focused on Parts Engineering, Components Engineering, and Applications Engineering. The candidate will lead obsolescence mitigation efforts, interface with design, contracts, estimating, and supply chain, and prepare for leadership within the Obsolescence Integrated Product Team.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
• Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation to discuss system impact of component obsolescence issues.
• Experience with project management, schedules, costs, and stakeholder needs in obsolescence processes.
• Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and customer component application requirements.
• Develop and sustain a proactive Obsolescence Management process to deliver cost-saving obsolescence mitigation strategies.
• Drive resolution through lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and other mitigation strategies; support contract negotiations and related docs.
• Interact with Program and customer leadership to communicate mitigation status.
• Conduct trade studies to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-in points for redesigns.
