Job summary

RTX is seeking a Program Obsolescence Engineer in Tucson, AZ, to lead parts and components engineering across proposal, design, production and support phases. This onsite role requires DoD Secret clearance and experience with obsolescence management, life-cycle buys, and supplier negotiations.

You will coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineering, supply chain, and program management, delivering cost-saving mitigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with obsolescence management methodologies.
• Experience with data collection, analysis, and presenting system impact.
• Experience with project management, schedules, costs, and stakeholder integration.

Responsibilities

• Understand and generate a program SOW and customer component requirements.
• Develop proactive obsolescence management processes to save costs.
• Drive resolution through lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and negotiations.
• Interact with program and customer leadership to communicate mitigation status.
• Conduct trade studies to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-in points.
