Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team developing secure embedded software for next-generation U.S. military products.

You will guide initiatives from pursuit through development, release, and sustainment, ensuring technical excellence while managing cost and schedule. You will influence cross-functional collaboration, champion best practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment.
• Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management.
• Experience with embedded software development.
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team across multiple programs, handling staffing and cost management.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, program managers, and shared services to integrate embedded cryptographic solutions.
• Drive software development best practices across the lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support pursuit activities, including bidding and proposal development, to win new programs.
• Monitor program performance using earned value management and optimize staffing and schedules.
