Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a secure embedded software team developing mission-critical capabilities for next-generation U.S. military products.

You'll guide technical excellence from pursuit through sustainment, coordinating with hardware, FPGA, and systems design, while balancing cost, schedule, and compliance. Onsite role in Fort Wayne, Indiana with sign-on bonus eligibility and a focus on national security.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams in a technical development environment.
• Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management.
• Experienced with embedded software development.
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team from entry level to seasoned professionals, including hiring and staffing allocation.
• Grow talent and foster job satisfaction through development goals and regular feedback.
• Collaborate across functions with engineers, leadership, program managers, and shared service organizations to ensure seamless integration of embedded cryptographic solutions.
• Champion product line strategy and development best practices across the software development life cycle.
• Support pursuit and bidding activities with technical expertise to strengthen proposals.
• Optimize staffing and program management across multiple programs using earned value management techniques.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and drive continuous process improvements.
