Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate software for aerospace systems. You will work on an IPT, contributing across the full development lifecycle from requirements to testing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver reliable software that meets mission requirements. This onsite role offers relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with embedded Linux, C/C++, and scripting (Bash and Python).
• Experience with embedded Linux device drivers and board bring-up.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance an embedded Linux OS ecosystem, including kernel, rootfs, bootloader, drivers, and BSP.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, delivery and support for embedded Linux software.
• Participate in root cause analysis of hardware-software issues.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms, and target hardware.
• Follow Collins Aerospace processes and tools to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for product features.
