Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, and start up fire, security, and building automation systems on diverse projects. You will act as the technical interface for customers, deliver training, and ensure project success within time and budget constraints.

The role may involve mentoring junior staff, collaborating with project managers, and coordinating with subcontractors to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong technical skills related to building automation, fire alarm, and electronic security systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings; understand schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair and service systems and equipment across security, fire alarm, and building automation projects.
• Interface with customers for technical support and training to maximize satisfaction.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine installation requirements; troubleshoot and fix malfunctions.
• Commission new systems, analyze performance and develop non-routine programs as needed.
• Lead or mentor less-experienced staff and supervise subcontractors on assigned projects.
• Prepare project deliverables such as submittals, shop drawings, and training documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
