Job summary

Robinhood's Proactive Capabilities team seeks a Software Engineer to design, build, and scale security tooling that reduces risk across the platform. You will work on AI agents and automation, partnering with Security and Product Engineering, and help define secure-by-default patterns.

Based in Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA with in-person attendance at least 3 days per week, you will tackle high-impact challenges, evaluate buy-vs-build options, and turn prototypes into company-wide capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering fundamentals and practical system design skills.
• Experience building scalable, reliable microservices and tools.
• Hands-on experience deploying services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Foundational knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes concepts.
• Strong security context with understanding attacker lifecycle and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale flexible security tooling and services to improve visibility and coverage.
• Design and deploy AI agents and security automation workflows.
• Collaborate with Security and Product Engineering to establish secure-by-default patterns.
• Participate in design and system reviews for Proactive Security initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for high availability of security services.
