Job summary

At Akamai, a Security Architect on the Information Security team helps strengthen product security by partnering with development teams to embed secure design across Akamai's systems. The role emphasizes reviewing designs, guiding remediation, and ensuring security and compliance in a global environment.

You will work with AI tools, lead incident responses, and influence security practices across products, networks, and cloud services, shaping the strategy for secure architecture at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience in security architecture in a large, global environment.
• Current with the latest security technologies, attack techniques, and vulnerabilities.
• Ability to remediate vulnerabilities and propose custom solutions based on architecture.
• Breadth of security knowledge across cloud security, network security, cryptography, etc.
• Experience with threat modeling frameworks such as STRIDE or STAMP.
• Ability to communicate complex security terms to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Performing security-focused design reviews of applications, systems and networks across Akamai products (security, CDN and cloud).
• Partnering with development and infrastructure teams to assist with remediation of identified issues.
• Collaborating with product development teams on secure design and development choices.
• Providing guidance and answering questions about security practices.
• Serving as a subject matter expert during incidents and remediation projects.
• Identifying tools and processes to ensure products meet security and compliance requirements.
• Integrating responsible AI use into workflows and securing internal and product AI use.
