Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Security Architect to join our Product Security team to strengthen security across Akamai’s products.

You’ll partner with development and infrastructure teams to embed security in design and development while guiding incident response and risk mitigation. You'll work on a range of products from security and CDN to cloud platforms, leveraging threat modeling and modern security practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in security architecture in a large, global environment (identifying architectural security weaknesses at the application, OS, and network level).
• Be current with the latest security technologies, attack techniques, and vulnerabilities.
• Know how to remediate common vulnerabilities and propose custom solutions based on architecture and implementation.
• Breadth of security knowledge across cloud security, network security, cryptography, etc.
• Experience with threat modeling or hazard-analysis frameworks such as STAMP, STRIDE, etc.
• Able to communicate and collaborate with a worldwide team, explaining complex security terms to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Performing security-focused design reviews of applications, systems and networks across a wide range of products, including security, CDN and cloud computing.
• Partnering with development and infrastructure teams to assist with remediation of identified issues.
• Working with product development teams on secure design and development choices.
• Providing guidance and answering questions about security practices.
• Serving as a subject matter expert during incidents and remediation projects.
• Identifying tools and processes for ensuring products meet security and compliance requirements.
• Integrating responsible use of AI into workflows and securing AI use internally and in products.
