Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - SW CI/CD Engr to design and evolve CI/CD pipelines across multiple product teams. The role requires active security clearance and 10% travel, with on-site work in Huntsville, AL.

You will integrate tools like Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence, and apply Linux administration and Ansible-based automation to secure builds in classified settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or 9 years of experience as an alternative to a degree.
• Active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.).
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at start.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.
• Experience in CI/CD in classified environments; DevSecOps practices and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a standardized CI/CD pipeline for RA ART across multiple product teams and sites.
• Collaborate with Cyber and Platforms ARTs to meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
• Integrate and manage core DevSecOps tools (Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence).
• Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts and Ansible playbooks for automation.
• Administer SE Linux and Red Hat repositories for secure builds and deployments.
• Troubleshoot integration challenges and improve pipeline reliability.
• Present status updates on pipeline health and risks to RA leadership.
• Support Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of CI/CD/DevSecOps practices.
