Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal Software Engineer – SW CI/CD Engr to drive standardized, secure software delivery pipelines for the RA ART. The role emphasizes DevSecOps, CI/CD tooling, and collaboration across multiple product teams in a classified environment.

Responsibilities include designing pipelines, integrating tools, scripting with Linux and Ansible, and ensuring compliance with program security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with required experience; or Master’s with relevant experience or 9 years experience as alternative.
• Active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher required at time of application and maintained throughout contract.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance required at start.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a standardized CI/CD pipeline for use by all product teams within RA ART, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability across releases and builds.
• Collaborate with RA ART and Cyber/Platforms ARTs to meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
• Integrate and manage core DevSecOps tools (Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence) to support automated build, test, integration, and deployment workflows in classified environments.
• Implement Linux-based system administration and security controls for CI/CD infrastructure, including hardening and patching.
• Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate configuration, provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
• Administer SE Linux and Red Hat repositories to support secure builds and deployments.
• Collaborate with system admins, IT, and security to troubleshoot issues and improve pipeline performance.
• Present regular status updates on pipeline health, tool performance, and risks to RA leadership.
• Support Agile development practices within RA ART and contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps improvements.
