Job summary

Zaddy Solutions in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Production Supervisor to lead second-shift paint operations. You will oversee one Team Leader and about 25 employees, driving safety, quality, and productivity while managing labor, materials, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team-lead experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Ability to organize people, set clear expectations and maintain accountability.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing and painted plastic components is preferred.
• Knowledge of coatings, surface prep, curing and paint quality is a plus.
• Experience in a unionized facility and with collective bargaining rules is preferred.
• Exposure to automated lines, robotics, PLCs, conveyors, sensors and automation.
• Working knowledge of production metrics, scrap reduction and downtime management.
• Strong communication, coaching and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work full second shift and be on-site as needed.
• High school diploma required; technical training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership for second-shift paint operations and safety.
• Lead one Team Leader and ~25 production employees across multiple functions.
• Assign labor to meet daily production goals and maintain shift continuity.
• Monitor line performance, quality, scrap, downtime and material usage; act on variances.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures and PPE rules.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance to resolve defects and variations.
• Support troubleshooting of automated paint line, robotics, conveyors and sensors.
• Ensure materials are staged and controlled to support uninterrupted operations.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and handovers to next shift and leadership.
• Train and develop employees; reinforce standardized work and policies.
• Prepare production reports and quality documentation; drive Lean/5S and continuous improvement.
